St. Louis Group Gains Affiliate Company Zeller

The St. Louis Group has been a supplier of flame retardants and smoke suppressants since 2010. Over the course of the last eight years, we have come to realize that our customers require other chemical additives to create the best products for end use. Wanting to improve our customer experience, we decided to build and develop a new line of products to serve our current markets and to grow into other markets as well. Zeller offers a line of antioxidants and light stabilizers with clarifiers, custom masterbatches, and dispersions available upon request. We are excited to introduce this line to you and hope it will further your experience with us.

Our antioxidant line includes phenolic, phosphite, thioester, amine, metal deactivators, and blends that serve various industries and needs in order to get the correct protection for your end product. Antioxidants trap free radicals and oxidation intermediates like peroxides. Antioxidants and Antioxidant blends are good for high-temperature processing. Each classification works a bit differently depending on the material and end use. Our team is equipped to help discuss the best options for you and your needs. Visit our Antioxidants page to view our line of Z-NOX products.

The Zeller line of light stabilizers includes hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS), UVA’s, and blends. Developed with the customer in mind, our line serves multiple industries from thermoplastics to coatings and adhesives. Light stabilizers work differently than antioxidants; they compete for the light that damages polymers by photo-oxidation and slow polymer degradation. Often, antioxidants and light stabilizers are paired together to give the most protection to a product as possible. To see our full line of Z-LITE products, visit our Light Stabilizers page.

We at the St. Louis Group and Zeller Polymer Solutions hope that you are able to find products that serve your needs with the service you deserve. We strive to continually grow in meeting our customer’s needs to become the polymer additives group of choice among our customers while trying to gain new customers in new markets. American Coatings Show to be Held in Indy

The show will be held from April 10-12, 2018, at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. Coatings raw materials including additives will be showing.

Exhibitors and attendees alike see the American Coatings Show and Conference as the leading North American industry event, setting trends for future developments in the industry. Offering immediate business opportunities, a complete portfolio of high-grade competitive products, and access to top coatings decision makers, the 2018 show is a must-attend event. More than 580 exhibitors are expected to attend the event. The show will offer attendees valuable insight into the industry’s innovative advancements. The conference will feature over 100 technical papers and posters from paint companies, raw material suppliers, academia, and governmental laboratories. The organizers are certain that this will attract about 1,100 attendees, turning the ACC into the largest scientific gathering in the coatings world.

Held in conjunction with the American Coatings Show, the American Coatings Conference will take place at the Indiana Convention Center on April 9-11, 2018. Experts from the industry and academia will present the latest innovations and findings, divided into 16 sessions, covering every aspect of the coatings industry. Other highlights include the poster session, where the prestigious American Coatings Award will be presented. The event will also include countless opportunities for networking.

The show comes during a continued growth period for the coatings industry. As the United States continues to recover from the housing market collapse in 2007, the paint and coatings market is expected to grow in tandem with the construction sector, with increases in both volume and value. On the OEM side, the combination of strong domestic demand and improved export opportunities resulting from the fall of the value of the dollar will fuel demand for increased U.S. durable goods and industrial coatings.

The show will also feature a fun run event on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at 7:15 am. The proceeds from this event fund student participation in future American Coatings Conferences.

Stay tuned for more news regarding conferences and shows in the industry.

HALS Market Worth 1.15 Billion USD by 2022

PUNE, India, July 24, 2017 – The report “Hindered Amine Light Stabilizers (HALS) Market by Type (Polymeric, Monomeric, Oligomeric), By Application (Automotive, Packaging, Agriculture Films, Construction), and Region (Asia Pacific, North America, Europe) – Global Forecast to 2022”, published by MarketsandMarkets™, the Global HALS market is projected to reach USD 1.15 Billion by 2022, at a CAGR of 7.1% from 2017 to 2022.

Packaging is expected to be the largest application segment for HALS owing to the increasing demand for food, consumer goods, industrial, and beverage packaging products in the Asia Pacific, North America, and Europe. The ability to sustain performance and quality of the packaging materials under UV radiation exposure, providing weathering resistivity and long-term durability are the major factors driving the demand for HALS in the packaging application segment.

The polymeric segment accounted for the largest share of the overall HALS market in 2016 in terms of value. Polymeric HALS are more effective than monomeric, and oligomeric HALS due to their large structure and different types of chains in different polymeric HALS, which increase their range of applications. The rising demand for highly effective additives from industrial applications such as polymers, adhesives & sealants, and plastics has fueled the growth of polymeric HALS in the global HALS market. HALS in the automotive sector are mainly used to provide exceptional UV durability in interior and exterior applications even under extended UV exposure.

The Asia Pacific region is projected to be the largest and fastest-growing market for HALS globally during the forecast period. This is majorly attributed to the presence of a large number of HALS manufacturers, rising foreign investments, and growing demand for HALS from the plastics, polymers, and automotive industries. Countries in this region, such as China, Japan, and India are witnessing a significant increase in the use of HALS, and China leads the market due to the growth of HALS in applications such as packaging, automotive, agriculture films, and construction, among others, and various developmental strategies adopted by manufacturers.
